What is vitamin C?
Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin. Humans, unlike most animals, lack the final enzyme in the pathway that makes vitamin C from glucose, so it has to come from the diet. The US Recommended Dietary Allowance is 90 mg a day for men and 75 mg for women.
When should I take vitamin C?
